Thanks to your support, more than 500 researchers in Oxford are working hard to make cancer treatments kinder and more effective for patients.
The CRUK Oxford Centre is committed to fostering a culture of engagement across its membership and ensuring research/public engagement is an integral part of Centre life. We encourage our researchers and clinicians to share their stories through a wide variety of initiatives such as our annual Schools Day (which now reaches out to 120 sixth formers), Open Evening, bespoke lab tours for patients and donors, and city-wide events like Oxford Open Doors. Our hope is that by sharing our work, the Centre can inspire hope that beating cancer is within reach.
We’re proud of our involvement in local and national fundraising initiatives, including #sciencecakes for Stand Up To Cancer and Race for Life, while helping local fundraising groups to sell cakes or Christmas cards. Without the public, we know CRUK would not be able to fund our research, and we are grateful for all the support that we receive. We hope to be able to continue to inspire the local community to carry on supporting cancer research here and across the UK.
