Clinical trials development

Early Phase Trials Development

The Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO) services the network of cancer researchers across Oxford and is a core infrastructure stream in the Centre.

It is the oncology division of the UKCRC registered Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) and runs a portfolio of 25 oncology trials ranging from single centre imaging studies to multinational trials of new drugs, with an increased emphasis on early phase trials.OCTO provides all aspects of trial management from trial design and funding applications to the reporting of results.

The portfolio includes a range of investigator-led early phase oncology clinical trials using genetic and imaging technologies to deliver personalised medical oncology and radiotherapy trials for highly selected groups of patients. The development of OCTO is central to the Centre strategy to support more Oxford investigators in developing their science into clinical trials.
